Ministry Descriptions
Our mission is to address social injustices that impact culturally diverse communities; and to advocate change to promote growth and development for individuals, as well as communities and churches we serve. Our primary goal is advocate for sustainable change and self-sufficiency for all God’s Children.
CIVIC ACTION
To empower communities by providing educational and experimental opportunities to create and maintain wealth. We will accomplish this by using a holistic approach to care for the needs of churches, consumers, entrepreneurs and investors. Our ultimate goal is to transform lives and communities so that God will be glorified. “… To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8: (NIV)
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Non-members representing organizations that provide services to our membership and/or seeking partnership opportunities with MCBV to meet the needs of God’s people, can request time to address the conference members. They may do so by contacting the hearing committee chairperson by leaving their request on our contact page of this website. The request will be vetted. Hearing opportunities are generally held the second Monday of each month we are in session.
HEARING COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee should be able to:
-
Answer questions regarding MCBV mission, objectives and structure;
-
Address questions and provide information regarding membership (e.g. questions relating to dues, membership, etc.;
-
Actively recruit new members and promote and encourage participation in MCBV Follow up with any potential members you contact to address questions, provide additional information, and help facilitate their joining MCBV, as well as reach out to those who have not renewed their membership to determine why and encourage them to rejoin; and
-
Assess membership needs through instruments such as surveys and questionnaires or methods suggested by the Board, and communicate the members’ needs to the Board.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The mission of the Compassionate Care Ministry is to support our members when they have challenges, e.g., sickness and/or death in their lives; and to encourage our members to support and care for one another. “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those that belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10
SICK & BENEVOLENT
This ministry is designed for the purpose of engaging and empowering young people, both male and female, to pursue their call to ministry, as well as afford them opportunities to further develop their gifts, e.g., preaching. It will afford young preachers opportunities to not only network with their peers, but to study under “seasoned” preachers, in particular pastors, receiving guidance on topics such as pulpit etiquette, and what to do while waiting to be called to be a pastor, “waiting your turn.”
